How to renew your motor insurance
For most of the year, your motor insurance is probably the last thing on your mind – and so it should be. That’s why we like to make it easy for you when it comes to renewal.
Automatic motor insurance renewal
Many customers find this the easiest way to renew their car insurance. You’ll either pay for your insurance by direct debit, or give us permission to take future payments from your credit card, then 21 days before your motor insurance renewal date, we’ll write to you with your premium for the coming year. If you are happy and none of your details have changed, you don’t need to do anything - your policy will automatically renew meaning you never run the risk of being uninsured and facing a government fine.
Manual motor insurance renewal
If you don’t pay by direct debit and you did not give us authority to charge your credit card for future renewals, we will write to you 21 days before your motor insurance renewal date, with details of your premium for the coming year. This is your renewal invitation. Unlike automatic renewal, you must contact us, otherwise your cover will end on the renewal date, and you will not be insured. If you want to make the process easier, and make sure you remain covered you can call us at any time to be updated onto automatic renewal.
