Hopefully you’ll never be in an accident so you’ll never have any need to make a claim on your Churchill Car Insurance policy. But if you do, it pays to be prepared.
Being involved in an accident can be very traumatic. You can remove some of the stress by knowing in advance what to do to make a claim on your Churchill Car Insurance policy.
Firstly, if you are in an accident, even a small bump, stop. If you drive on, you will be breaking the law.
Check to see if anyone is hurt and, if necessary, call an ambulance. If someone is injured, you will need to tell the police and get an incident number.
Providing it is safe to do so, you should try to get an independent witness to verify the position of any cars involved in the accident before you move them off the road.
Even if you feel you are at fault, do not admit liability at the scene of the accident. We will take care of this for you later.
Exchange the following details with the drivers of any other cars involved in the accident: name, address, phone number, vehicle make and model, registration number, insurance company and policy number.
In addition, write down the details of the accident and draw a quick sketch of what happened. If you have a camera, take some photos.
Also, note down the names and addresses of any witnesses.
Once you have done all of this, call us. We have a 24-hour claim line to make things easy. The number is 0845 603 3599.
Once you call, we will talk you through what happens next, tell you where your nearest recommended repairer is and arrange for them to contact you. Our repairer will also arrange a courtesy car for you while your own vehicle is being fixed.
Making a claim on your Churchill Car Insurance really couldn’t be simpler. And if you buy online today at Churchill.com we’ll give you up to 10% discount.
