Indemnity Insurance transfer
‘Indemnity Insurance Limited (previously called HIH Indemnity International Ltd) ("Indemnity") and Churchill Insurance Company Limited ("Churchill") have applied to the High Court for an Order under section 111 of Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 ("FSMA") approving an insurance business transfer scheme. This Scheme is for the transfer to Churchill of the entire insurance business of Indemnity, which includes Churchill branded pet and travel insurance policies and certain travel insurance policies sold through UK Underwriting Limited (the "Scheme").
Indemnity is writing directly to policyholders (including those who hold contracts of reinsurance underwritten by Indemnity), reinsurers and/or their brokers about the Scheme. All the key documents about the Scheme can be downloaded below.
