Churchill beats Spiderman in world record attempt

23rd October 2012

Churchill celebrates his birthday by claiming the Guinness World Records Record Title for the ‘Most Contributions to a Greeting Card’

Churchill received a huge 4347 signatures on his birthday card today, setting a Guinness World Records Record Title for the ‘Most Contributions to a Greeting Card’ and beating Spiderman at the same time, who had been aiming for the record himself. Churchill’s card was an impressive 10ft by 8ft in size and it took everyone’s favourite bulldog ages to read all of the messages. The signatures were collected on a tour of Churchill contact centres and via Facebook.

Churchill helped to spread his birthday good cheer and celebrated his success by donating £2,000 to his friends at The Dogs and Cats Home, Battersea.

Amanda Walker, personal spokesperson for Churchill, said, “Churchill has asked me to pass on his thanks to all who helped him set the new world record. Needless to say, he is thrilled that so many people got involved, and that he was able to help out his chums at Battersea at the same time.”

Notes to editors:
The World Record was verified by Guinness World Records on Monday 22nd October.
